Moving Forward

Slowly, but surely, I have been plowing through the rough draft of the third book in the Shayia's Adventures series.

I think it is time to bring chapter nine to a close. I am not happy with the chapter at all, but the more I think about it, the worse it becomes.

As this is the first draft out of my head, I'm not sweating it. If I move on and focus on something new, it will give my brain a chance to deal with chapter nine when the time comes.

So...chapter ten...here I come!!!!!

Making A Difference

As an author, I believe it is important to try to make a difference in the world...for the better.

My first book, The Sword of Light: Shayia's Adventures - Book One, is my small start. Even though it is an easy-to-read chapter book, I believe it has much to teach our young people.

First, the book's main focus is that all things are possible through Christ. I want our young readers to learn that they should not rely on their own strength, but the power of our Lord. Second, we are not alone. With the support of family and friends, we can accomplish much. Third, reading can be fun. There are so many children that struggle with reading for different reasons - boring, too overwhelming to read long chapters, too confusing. The list goes on. I want the Lord to use me to write stories that are fun and full of page turning adventures.

So, please partner with me as we are called to write and make a difference. Let us bring fun and adventure to our young readers as we teach them about the Lord.

DEALING WITH THE UNEXPECTED

We have been working to prepare my second book, REDEMPTION: SHAYIA'S ADVENTURES - BOOK TWO, for print. Unfortunately the unexpected happened and dates were pushed back.

Now, I can get frustrated and allow bad attitudes to creep in, making things more difficult.

OR...

I can continue to put my trust in the Lord.

I choose to do the latter. He is the reason I write, so no matter what happens, the Lord is my main focus.

The Lord blessed me with awesome people to work with. I am extremely thankful for every single one of them.

So, when the unexpected happens to you, I encourage you to keep your focus on the Lord.

Keep writing!!!
